Day 18: A bit of Boardwalk and a little more Epcot…

August 10th, 2010 · 2 Comments

This morning, for as far as possible, we slept in. No early appointments today. Only at the end of the afternoon we’re expected at Teppan Edo. So today we have all the time!

This morning we do everything at our leisure and even ‘sent away’ housekeeping for once. That was no problem.
The big question was, however: where will we have breakfast today. We have plenty of snack items and also counter points abound. Blizzard Beach was unfortunately no option again today because it rains again. We find it quite sad for the kids, but what is not meant to be…

We decided to have breakfast at the bakery on the Boardwalk. And because it is close to Epcot, it was probably smart to take our bags along. It dependen on whether we were free to park there, or whether we got a temporary parking permit.

But this time too we were allowed to park without restrictions. So that meant we’d soon take the boat to Epcot!
But first our (by now) brunch! There was plenty of choice, so we all have some nice selections. According to the children, the Mickey cake is delicious. Mirisam regrets she took no pictures of them “after the cake” …
After breakfast, we looked around a bit on the boardwalk. With the boat we then went to Epcot and entered through the International Gateway   in to World Showcase. That was appropriate, as in this part of Epcot, we have still not seen everything.
Miriam and I now come here for the fifth time and have to admit to our shame that in all that time we have never been to Canada. In one way or another this always had to be skipped. So now first to Canada. And it was definitely worth it. The film “O Canada” was very nice. The children very much appreciated it because the part on the beautiful falls also showed the hotel where we stayed!

The children would now like to do a Kim Possible mission, and for that we have to go to Norway.
But first ice cream! These were again large, but very tasty. Then it was time for the rest of World Showcase and we wanted to begin in Mexico. Along the way the children did a quiz in one of the shops and they were dressed up as “Chef Mickey”. So a lot of laughs and 2 Magical Moment certificates richer!
Geordi saw Donald in Mexico and he really wanted to take a picture. Not a bad idea crazy idea to do so now, because there was a fairly dark sky coming in. We were in any case in time in the “temple” of Mexico to take a boat trip.
That proved a good decision, because the street was pretty wet when we came back outside. And so we avoid all the rain today apparently …

In Norway, children did their secret mission. They had many assignments to do in Norway to complete their Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure. It was fun and they have completed their mission successfully.

Now on to China (ever been in so many countries in one day?). To see if Mulan was there. We found her, the kids just joined the queue when the queue was closed.
Mulan knew a lot of the children, like that they had used Pixie Dust to fly to America. This was no coincidence anymore! We found out: Mulan had been Silvermist earlier this week!
China lies next to Germany and from Germany to Italy. In America the “American Adventure” was about to start, so we were lucky. We were doubly lucky because we again avoided a big downpour! That’s good!
En route to Japan it began to rain again and we even had to make a little run to get to Japan somewhat dry. Here we went to eat at Teppan Edo. We shared the table (and cook) with a different family. Again we had a really great meal. We definitely had a funny, good cook!
DSC_2996 DSC_3000 DSC_3001 DSC_3002 DSC_3008 DSC_3012 DSC_3017 After dinner we finished our round of World Showcase and exited towards the Boardwalk (of course taking the boat) and went back to our villa. It was enough.
That way we could get back to working on the reports in the evening…!

Tomorrow we hope to visit Harry Potter World, but we’ll go late in the afternoon. Hopefully it will be a bit quieter …

Het lijkt meer (en vermoeiender) dan het is… We doen alles op ons gemak, en als we ergens geen puf voor hebben, doen we het ook niet… 😉
