And another big step forward!

May 31st, 2010 · No Comments

Through the Dutch forum ‘Orlando tips’ we found the website of Attraction Tickets Direct. We still needed tickets for (a.o.) Seaworld and Islands of Adventure, so we started snooping around the site. Who knows what we’ll find…

We found a nice combo deal for Seaworld, Universal Studio’s, Islands of Adventure en Aquatica. Aquatica is – for us – not very interesting, since the Disney waterparks have our preference. But anyway, it is part of the deal. The price was very competetive, and that was the most important bit! I have had the pleasure of talking directly with the staff of Attraction Tickets Direct a few times, and their service is great!

We can now access those 4 park an unlimited times for 14 consecutive days (parking excluded, obviously). We were a little bit above the price of 2 single day tickets for the two preferred parks, but for those extra few Euro’s we gained a lot of flexibility. If we want to revisit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter… we can! Our stay in Orlando   has now been completely arranged.

So that was step one…
We still need to arrange the part of the trip before we reach Orlando. And that does include New York as well!
To be honest we’re staying way too short in New York and want to see and do too much. Miriam and me have been in New York before and really want to show this city to the kids as well. Our plans included Empire State Building, a Circle Line cruise to Ellis Island and Liberty Island and a visit to Ground Zero.

But our visit to the website of Attraction Tickets has turned our plans topsy turvy, but in a pleasant way.

Here too we found a – for us – very interesting combo ticket. However, if we went for this deal, we had to change our plans… But we really believe it is worth it.

We’ll now be going to the Rockefeller Center (Top of the Rock) to enjoy the great New York vista’s.

Then we will still take the Circle Line , but now for a semi-circle cruise around the Hudson and the sites we’ll see include: Lady Liberty, Brooklyn, Manhattan and Williamsbridge, and Ellis Island.

And to top it all off… We will be making a helicopterflight over the city! The kids don’t know any of this, and we really hope to be able to keep these plans a secret up to the actual moment. They’ll go out of their minds!

According to the description we will fly over: The Statue of Liberty, Ellis and Governors Islands, Manhattan’s famous skyscrapers (including the Chrysler building), George Washington Bridge and Central Park.
