A few months ago when we decided to make this trip it was, certainly for Miriam, far into the future. It was a nice little something to look forward to, but otherwise she was really too busy to be concerned about it.
This changed once she got the annual fair done! Then her travel itch started itching too. I have certainly noticed that, because she started suddenly to ‘interfere’ with things. Help finding hotels, help with the itinerary, etc. Sometimes she better not ‘interfere’, since usually what she thought of was already taken care of a long time ago. But now and then she surely had a few useful additions!
Until today there was one thing to be arranged: Our transportation from JFK Airport to our hotel. During our stay in New York we are without a car! We thought that it would be a nice touch to use a limousine service. If we only think of what the faces of the children will look like, we’re already excited. They’ll be so awestruck!
It would seem easier than it actually was. Of Limo companies certainly no shortage. However after having read the reviews … it was somewhat more difficult than we expected. Fortunately these same reviews also unanimously brought an address with positive reviews, and, at least as important, at a reasonable rate. Because the rate differences were sometimes very high!
Found a good company —> check!
Now only to contact them and make a reservation. That was a true ‘challenge’ in itself. If it weren’t for the children, we would have thrown the towel in the limousine, ehh, ring, and taken an ‘ordinary’ cab to our hotel!
But we did manage… After our arrival, the limousine will drive up to bring us (in style, lol) to the hotel!
Limousine booked —> check!
Now one more thing awaits: Pack our bags and board the plane that will bring us to New York …
